Web3 Startup Saltwater Games Closes $5.5 Million Seed Round Led by Deus X
Seed Funding Closes at $5.5 Million
Saltwater Games, a promising new startup in the fast-evolving Web3 space, has picked up $5.5 million in its first fundraising effort. The seed funding was led by a duo of large-scale investment firms Deus X and Fourth Revolution Capital (4RC).
The Web3 company plans to tap into the financial backing to expand its operations, bring in new talent, and build out its technology stack.
Acquisitions in Full Swing
The capital inflow comes just as Saltwater wraps up a string of successful takeover initiatives. The ambitious firm acquired gaming developers Maze Theory, Nexus Labs, and Quantum Interactive, which count Peaky Blinders and Doctor Who among their portfolios.
As part of the deal, Tim Grant, CEO of Deus X and former head of EMA for Galaxy Digital, will assume the role of Chairman at Saltwater Games.
Deus X Oversees $1 Billion in Assets
Deus X emerged last October as a big player in the investment field, boasting $1 billion in assets under management. The investment firm oversees holdings across digital assets, fintech, and institutional capital markets.
