How I Became a Funded Trader in 60 Days
In October 2024 I set out to pass two FunderPro challenges using my own stack — FunderPro, TradeLocker and TradesAI. By December I was funded on a $25K and a $100K account, and this is exactly how I did it.
In October 2024 I set myself a test: become a funded trader by passing two FunderPro challenges. The plan was to do it with three tools from my own stack: FunderPro, TradeLocker and TradesAI.
This was never just about passing an evaluation. These are products I build and operate, and trading them for real is how I stay close to what they actually do. A dashboard tells you one story. Your own P&L tells you the true one.
By December I was funded on both accounts — a $25,000 one-phase challenge and a $100,000 two-phase challenge. The method held up. So did the tools.

The strategy
Higher timeframes, longer trades. The full breakdown is in my trading guide.
I knew from the outset I needed a clear, disciplined approach. Most traders attack these challenges with rapid-fire trades on low timeframes. I went the other way.
Why? Because higher timeframes fit disciplined risk management. You make decisions deliberately, not as a reaction to every short-term wobble in price.

FunderPro Challenge Dashboard
Higher timeframes give you the broader picture of a trend, so you can pick out the real opportunities without being shaken out by noise. Committing to longer trades meant my positions had room to mature and capture the full swing instead of a slice of it.
That approach is what carried me through both evaluations.
The timeline
The other critical piece: I took my time. These challenges weren't about forcing a result in days. I gave the strategy weeks to play out, and that patience did more for the outcome than any single trade.
Risk stayed inside 1-2% per trade, positioned with the overall market trend. No pressure, no hero trades — just consistent decisions, repeated.

The value of a trading partner
One thing I'd tell any trader: get a second set of eyes on your trades. A trusted partner sees the risks and opportunities you're too close to notice, and they hold you accountable to your own strategy and risk plan when discipline gets tested.
The learning compounds too — swapping setups, insights and honest feedback sharpens both of you. Whether it's stress-testing an idea or staying steady through a rough patch, that support is worth more than most indicators.
Leveraging FunderPro, TradeLocker and TradesAI
FunderPro
The foundation of the whole exercise. FunderPro set the structure — clear targets, hard limits, rules I had to respect to get funded. That framework forced discipline, and discipline is most of the game. (Use code OWEN for 10% off your first challenge.)
TradeLocker
My execution platform. Clean interface, proper analytics, and performance metrics that told me exactly where I stood against the challenge requirements at any moment. I executed the strategy on it without friction.
TradesAI
The edge. TradesAI surfaced data-driven, high-probability setups by analysing market trends and patterns — a virtual assistant that made sure every trade I took was backed by data, not a hunch. Get the free signals here.
Results achieved
$100,000 account (Stage 1 & 2)
- Balance: $110,052.07 (Stage 1) and $110,357.50 (Stage 2)
- Profit factor: 1.41 (Stage 1) and 9.81 (Stage 2)
- Win rate: 66.36% (Stage 1) and 83.33% (Stage 2)
- Overall profit: $10,052.07 (Stage 1) and $8,885.00 (Stage 2)
$25,000 account (Stage 2)
- Balance: $28,304.51
- Profit factor: 1.64
- Win rate: 61.11%
- Overall profit: $3,304.51
The numbers are the point. Higher timeframes plus the right stack didn't just scrape me past the requirements — it cleared them with margin, on both accounts.
Key takeaways
- Discipline is key. FunderPro challenges demand strict adherence to the rules. Sticking to my strategy kept me out of unnecessary risk and kept the performance consistent.
- Higher timeframes offer stability. Less noise, clearer trends. This was the backbone of the whole result.
- Tools matter. FunderPro, TradeLocker and TradesAI each did a distinct job — structure, execution, analysis. Together they covered the full loop from setup to review.
- Patience pays off. Longer trades let positions mature and capture the bigger moves — and cut out the emotional, impulsive decisions that kill most challenge attempts.
- Risk management is non-negotiable. 1-2% per trade, every trade. That ceiling is what keeps one bad day from ending the whole run.
Passing both FunderPro challenges was more than a personal win. It's what happens when the right tools meet a disciplined process — tested in real conditions, on my own evaluations, not in theory. Nothing about trading is guaranteed, but discipline, patience and the right resources stack the odds the way they stacked for me.
I'll keep refining the strategies and the tools, and I'll keep writing up what I learn — whether you're new to trading or funded already, these are the principles I'd start from.
What's next? I trade the funded accounts and carry the journey on from here. Follow me here for the updates.
