NextTrade Guide: Accounts, Platforms and Costs

A practical guide to NextTrade: compare Standard, Raw and VIP accounts, MT5 and TradeLocker, trading costs, regulation and the checks to make before funding.

Choosing a broker starts with a few practical questions. Which company holds your account? What does a complete trade cost? Can you use the platform your process depends on? How do you get your money out?

NextTrade offers forex and CFD trading with Standard, Raw and VIP accounts, plus MetaTrader 5 and TradeLocker. Here is how to work through those choices before opening an account.

Details checked: 2 October 2026. Pricing, availability and eligibility can change. The official documents linked below are the sources for the product details in this guide.

What is NextTrade?

NextTrade is a broker for trading forex and contracts for difference. With a CFD, you trade a contract linked to an asset's price; you do not own the underlying asset. The broker's published account range covers forex, indices, metals and energies.

My NextTrade portfolio overview explains where it fits among the businesses I work on. For a broader comparison framework, start with how to choose a forex broker, then use the questions here to assess the specific account you are considering.

Regulation: check the entity behind your account

NextTrade's Terms and Conditions identify NextTrade Ltd in Mauritius, registration number 223260, and state that it is authorised by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius under licence GB25204563. Those terms also set out eligibility restrictions, including a restriction on US residents and citizens.

Check the legal entity named in your account agreement against the regulator's register before funding. Confirm that the broker can accept you where you live and read the complaints process. A licence in one jurisdiction does not mean the same protections apply everywhere.

NextTrade account types and published costs

The official account comparison lists the following headline conditions. RT means round trip: opening and closing a trade.

Published NextTrade account conditions, checked 2 October 2026
AccountMinimum depositSpreadCommission
Standard$50Variable$0
Raw$100From 0.0 pips$7 per lot RT
VIP$10,000From 0.0 pips$4 per lot RT

A spread advertised as starting at zero is a minimum, not a promise for every order. Compare the live spread on your instrument, commission, overnight financing and any currency conversion charges. Confirm the contract specifications rather than assuming one headline rate applies to every market.

For example, take a hypothetical trade with $8 of spread cost and $7 of round-trip commission: the combined cost is $15 before financing or slippage. An account with no separate commission would need a spread cost below $15 to be cheaper for that same trade. This is an illustration, not a NextTrade execution quote.

The useful comparison is the total cost for the position size and holding period you actually use. A larger minimum deposit does not, by itself, make an account a better choice.

MetaTrader 5 or TradeLocker?

NextTrade's MetaTrader 5 page lists Expert Advisor support and desktop, web and mobile access. If your existing tools depend on MT5, check their compatibility with the account and instruments you plan to use.

Its TradeLocker page describes browser trading with TradingView charts, a built-in risk calculator and the Studio bot builder. I co-founded TradeLocker; my TradeLocker project page covers that background.

Before choosing, walk through the tasks you repeat: setting a position size, placing a stop, changing an order and checking your trade history. A feature list becomes useful when you can connect it to a task. My guide to MetaTrader alternatives gives more context for comparing platforms.

Leverage and protection: read the conditions

NextTrade advertises leverage up to 1:1000. That is a maximum available under applicable conditions, not a target for your trading. More leverage allows larger exposure relative to margin and can accelerate losses.

The broker's Risk Disclosure Statement says negative balance protection applies to eligible retail clients, with conditions and exclusions; professional and institutional accounts are excluded. It also explains that stop orders may execute at a different price during volatile or gapping markets. Neither feature makes the money inside a trading account safe from loss.

Questions to settle before you deposit

  • Eligibility: Which entity will contract with you, and are its services available in your country?
  • Trading conditions: What are the contract size, margin requirement, commission and financing charges for your intended instruments?
  • Withdrawals: Which method can you use, what are its minimums and fees, and what documentation is required?
  • Support: When can a person help with an account or execution problem, and how do you escalate it?

Ask support a specific question before you need an urgent answer. My article on what to look for in brokerage support covers the service side in more detail. Keep a copy of the applicable terms and any written clarification you receive.
